Sebastian Vervenne
Sebastian Vervenne took his first camera in hand when he was a young teenager. This was the start of a varied and promising introduction to capture his love of nature on film. It became his specialization. Soon he started a quest for the beauty of the vulnerability and the hidden power of Mother Nature. New Zealand became his favorite destination to further concretize this passion. From that day onwards Sebastian, with a sense of adventure and curiosity for distant cultures, started seeking beauty and looking for inner answers in the world around him. Sleeping on the back seat of cars, in hay barns or in strange people's homes, everywhere troughout Europe, Africa, South America, and even close to his own home. Rising hours before sunrise seeking to capture that perfect brightness or lying for hours flat on his belly in all weathers waiting for that coveted close-up.
Photography became a logical choice for his studies at the Narafi in Brussels, with a strong emphasis on fashion and studio photography. The passion bacame a craft, and more, an art. Nature was his main conversation partner. Nature Photography turned into Landscape Photography. Warm and rich colors with pinpoint precision baceme his signature. Poetic realism. On land, at sea and from the air, Sebastian pursues his exploration. He distills form and composition, so that beauty becomes abstraction and even more, it becomes unrecognizable. The fantastic is never far away. His lived observation of nature goes beyond the aesthetic and explores the boundaries of a metaphysical dimension.
Love, passion, craft and art go hand in hand and become “Eco Fine Art Photography” as he calls it himself.
Sebastian takes us along with him and shares with us dizzy and intimate moments in his nature. An endangered planet, the beauty of which we should never lose sight of.
